Mimic Octopus
I work predominantly on endangered species and other animals that catch my interest. After watching a documentary on this extraordinary type of Octopus I researched out some pictures and sat down to create him. Painting this piece alone was a two day job, it became rather a labor of love.

Individually hand sculpted each animal I make is hollow and created using a combination of pinch potting, coiling and slabbing which I commonly refer to as hollow form sculpting. The work is then bisque fired to 1080c the piece is then painted using a technique known as dry brushing using acrylic paints.
