The Theo Moorman Charitable Trust

Grants are normally made biennially in the Spring of even years. They are quite specifically/or weavers: those working in other media cannot be considered. Decisions on grants are taken by Trustees and a nominated member of the Association of Guilds of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers. The names of successful applicants are published in the Journal for Weavers, Spinners and Dyers: weavers are asked for reports by the Trustees, and summaries of these are published in the Journal. The aim of the Trust is to enable weavers to enjoy artistic freedom in order to contribute to the development of the craft and the education of future craftsmen. Trustees make grants to enable weavers to: 1) purchase special equipment to pursue their craft in a creative manner 2) enjoy a sabbatical period to reassess the creative nature of their work 3) undertake a specific project or projects in furtherance of their craft which might not normally be possible 4) develop the craft in any other way in which the Trustees, in their absolute discretion, think fit Applications are invited from weavers living and working in the U.K. Those who have recently completed higher education need to have at least two years working experience before applying.
