The SPICE project has been set up to help students from the University of Manchester and UMIST and graduates from any university to gain work within Manchester's creative sector. This sector includes: arts administration; performing arts; music; community arts; film; graphic design; new media; and many other fields of work. Several organisations and businesses in the area are seeking to recruit students/ graduates to undertake projects and placements, or for part-time work. SPICE gives you access to a number or paid and non-paid opportunities over a range of different timescales (minimum of 35 hours over a six month period). These may involve: business administration; event organisation; fundraising; marketing & publicity; office management; research and development; IT development; web site design; etc.If you are recruited for one of these opportunities the SPICE team will guide you through an induction with your employer, and will remain in contact with you throughout your placement to provide support wherever needed.
