Founded in 1988, Memorials by Artists is a nationwide service which helps people to commission good individual memorials for churchyard, cemetery or garden. Working with almost one hundred independent artist-makers, the organisation oversees numerous individually designed commissions, with work ranging from classic simplicity to the lively and innovative. The aim is to help people who want such a memorial through the often daunting process of finding an artist, commissioning the memorial, and negotiating the rules and regulations governing churchyard or cemetery.
