JASSO, the Jewellery and Silver Society of Oxford, is a registered charity which exists to advance the education of the public in the arts and crafts of jewellery, silversmithing, and allied subjects. The Society has around 130 members from across six counties, and operates a fully equipped teaching workshop in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, for members (from beginners to advanced) to take practical classes with experienced tutors. Other activities include specialist weekend courses, a programme of public lectures and educational visits, a Newsletter, a biennial public exhibition, and a number of social events. The Society is open to all members of the public with an interest in silversmithing and jewellery, enamelling, casting, lapidary, metalsmithing, design, collecting, and the history of craft and design.
