Make raku tea bowls and fire them in a wood kiln - 2 day weekend courses. Studio situated within the beautiful Ashridge Forest, Hertfordshire. The courses are suitable for both beginners and for those with some experience. Each course is tailored to the needs of the students with a maximum class of 6 students so you are guaranteed a high level of attention. Beginners will be taught the basic skills of preparing clay and learning the authentic Japanese method of Raku tea ware making. The course runs from 10am-4.30pm Saturday and Sunday and includes home cooked lunch and refreshments.Students will be able to participate in a wood firing during the course. The tea bowls and other pots made in the weekend course will be dried, biscuit fired, glazed and fired on a subsequent weekend.
