COLLECT presented by the Crafts Council is to re-launch in 2009 in a stunning new venue - The Duke of York’s HQ, Chelsea, London.

Launched in 2004, COLLECT is one of the Crafts Councils flagship events and over the last five years has built up an outstanding reputation as the premier fair in Europe for contemporary craft. COLLECT presents international galleries who represent artists working in all disciplines including ceramics, glass, jewellery, fine metalwork, textiles, wood and furniture. The new Saatchi Gallery will be one of the largest contemporary art galleries in the world, presenting an amazing platform to stage this next phase of COLLECT.

COLLECT 2009 will also see the return of Art Fund COLLECT, a funding initiative launched in 2008 by The Art Fund, the UK’s leading independent art charity, in partnership with the Crafts Council, for museums and galleries to bid to buy ambitious contemporary craft for UK public collections. For 2009, The Art Fund has increased the fund to £75,000, allowing a shortlist of curators to select significant works by artists and makers of international status.
