Wood Carving at Lordswood Creations

I have been working with wood for over 30 years now, and have had many personal highlights in this time. I was awarded a "Gold Medal at the British National Wood Worker Show". And was also awarded a "Gold and two Bronze Medals" from the "Bexley & District Craft Guild".

Please Help!!!

Hi There,
my name is James and i am coming to the end of my degree in 3d design. i am a keen ceramic potter, but my skills are not yet good enough to set up my own business. so i was looking at doing an apprenticeship in ceramics. however i am having great trouble finding out about them, weather in the UK or abroad, how would i go about finding out about such placements thanks to anyone who could help me?

Thank you

Growing

I am a second year under grad student at The University of Cumbria. I am studying BA (hons) Contemporary Applied Arts specialising in ceramics and constructed textiles. I suppose like any artist I want to start to get my work and my thoughts out into the public arena and see how I am recieved. I am interested in ecological issues and finding intelligent ways to deal with the problem of waste. The most important issues for me when producing work are what it expressing, how it looks and the quality of the finish.

John Constables Hay Wain 2007 recreation

The weekend I had a trip to Flatford Mill the location of Constables famous painting "The Hay Wain".

It's surprising how unchanged it is from the original scene considering it was painted in 1821.

All the old faces of the Crafts Council

After an enjoyable visit to the late night opening of this years Origin all of the old friends from the Crafts Council met up to regale tales of old, under the comforting glow of the Duke of Wellingtons curious outdoor heating system. It was great to see the old gang again!

Monday 1st October

I have just got some good new fine porcelain pieces out of the kiln and photographed. They can be seen on www.myspace.com/richardbax
I am doing quite a bit of teaching this week so won't get many pieces made or galzed, but that's all part of my mixed economy.

Fancy Beach Huts at the Hub!

I Saw this amazing exhibition advertised on the telly a few nights ago. Where some designers and architects were asked to think up some new designs for beach huts to regenerate a forgotten part of the Linconshire coast line. The exhibition is called Re-imagining the Beach Hut for the 21st Century" more info can be found on their website. http://www.thehubcentre.org/content4/index2.asp?pid=20&le1=3&le2=20&gal=...
